size: 122cm wide by 152cm high, medium: oil on canvas.

This portrait was created from 12 sketches from one sitting in mid June 2007.The original study was a more formal portrait with a styling of old master / impressionist. The primary focus of the painting is best described by the comparison between the more traditional portrait aspect of this painting, with the sub portrait showing my perception of Anthony’s intense and passionate self, focusing on the eyes and colour – trying to capture his very private self. The dual nature of this portrait was both to engage the viewer in the process of sitting for a portrait and the integration of painting style.
